Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea at Urban Tea Merchant

2015 is the Year of the Sheep.

    (1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003 & 2015)

The sheep (goat, or ram) is among one of the animals that people most like.  Sheep people are mild mannered and calm.  They are also polite and clever. They love art and beauty and prefer to live a quiet unassuming life. They are compassionate and economical.  Sheep people can be artistically talented and have a good fashion sense.  Famous Sheep people include Michaelangelo, Rudolph Valentino, Jane Austen, Pierre Trudeau and Barbara Walters to name a few.

In keeping with Chinese New Year, Urban Tea Merchant has a lovely Chinese themed afternoon tea service. The sumptuous tea is the creation of Executive Chef Nathan Wright. I really appreciated the pairing of Chinese Tea with this Afternoon Tea Service which will be available at Urban Tea Merchant until the end of February. There is also a lovely Valentine Afternoon Tea service which is only available on Feb 13 (Fri), Valentine's Day (Sat), and Feb 15 (Sun).  For a really unique and delicious alternative to traditional afternoon tea I highly recommend this Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea Service!  What a nice way to ring in the Year of the Sheep!  Kung Hei Fat Choy!

Puh-Er Prestige is a very unique tea that is being introduced for the first time in North America.  Only the buds are used as they have the most nutrients, contains the most sweetness and carries more anti-oxidants compared to other leaves.  The taste is more rounded, less earthy and the colour is lighter.  Puh-Er is considered good for the skin and weight loss.  This is also the most expensive Puh-Er that Urban Tea Merchant carries ($160/100g).
