I don't believe in miracle creams. I do, however, believe in self care and self discipline in the form of good skin care. Perhaps the elusive fountain of youth really exists in each of us and it's up to us to nourish and promote our own well being. However, a little help goes along well towards self preservation and I, like many women, am willing to spend money on products to help extend the life of my skin. I am a firm believer in cleansing followed by moisturising. I go through jars of creams and moisturisers at alarming speed. I don't feel guilty though. I feel my skin has benefited from the extra nourishment and attention.
Living in Vancouver, it's more cold than it's warm even in summer making wearing creams and moisturisers a must. In the winter months, I usually choose heavier creams including some oils. My skin leans towards the dry and sensitive, so I apply my creams liberally. However, spring is here now and I am looking forward to trying newer lighter formulations. With that in mind, I recently revisited an old favourite. Although it's no longer called Oil of Olay, I still remember my first glass bottle from way back when.
Fast forward to 2014 Olay is still standing strong and is a favourite staple of many women today. Recently, I tried the new Olay Regenerist Luminous Collection. The three piece collection consists of a Brightening Cream Cleanser, Tone Perfecting Cream and Dark Circle Correcting Hydraswirl. They help reduce the appearance of dark spots under eye circles and help skin recover its glow. I was pleasantly surprised to see how easy they were to use. Both the Tone Perfecting Cream and Dark Circle Correcting Hydraswirl had a lovely refreshing scent that didn't irritate the skin. If I had to chose a couple of words to describe how my skin felt and looked, they would be silky and luminous.
I tend to be heavy handed and I used liberal amounts of both the Hydralswirl and Tone Perfecting Cream. The three piece set which is also available individually would simplify my beauty routine at night. Each summer I end up somewhere relatively hot and I usually switch to lighter formulars as I still want to nourish my skin but I want something light and refreshing. I think this collection will be great for my travel to Europe this summer as I want my skin to look radiant and supple in the many holiday photos I will be taking on this trip.
