September is birthday month which means there will be much feasting. This year I'm having a joint birthday with two of my friends, Mandy and Vincent. Food blogger, Bosco was in charge of making all the arrangements. Bosco arranged for our party of twelve to enjoy an evening of fine dining at the award winning Hawksworth Restaurant down town Vancouver. We were all looking forward to our night out as some of us had not had the opportunity to dine at Hawksworth yet. Hawksworth arranged for us to have a private room which can seat 18 maximum. It was a good idea for us to be in the private Bel Cafe for our dinner because it took forever for us to settle down. We were very busy taking photos and exchanging presents!
Our group had decided on the four course chef's menu. We could choose from three appetizers and four main courses. There were so many of us, I think we managed to order everything from the menu. I was very happy with my selections starting with the prosciutto di parma. I loved the combination of the figs and marshmallows. For my main course, I enjoyed the pan roasted halibut. It was delicious! Dessert was a Valrhona chocolat fondant or sweet milk ice cream. I am a chocolate lover and was happy the birthday cake (made by Bel Cafe) was a dark chocolate raspberry cake. We all agreed the food was exceptional. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the private room that looked out onto West Georgia street straight across to the Vancouver Art Gallery. I am already thinking ahead to my next visit to Hawksworth restaurant!
