I recently watched the much anticipated James Bond film Skyfall. I have to say it really lived up to all the hype and expectations. The film left me breathless and very much a convert of Daniel Craig as the latest English spy 007. I always thought I was a Pierce Brosnan girl. Who could resist Pierce’s charismatic and debonair turn as James Bond? However, actor Daniel Craig brings a whole new element to the Bond character by adding depth and a fair bit of grittiness. What is it they say? Girls like naughty boys! It’s safe to say I’m in the group that feel this is one of the best Bond films yet. Even Sir Roger Moore who played Bond seven times has given his stamp of approval. I hear through the entertainment grapevine that Daniel is very honoured by this. Without giving too much away, I feel Skyfall hits all the right notes, there is just enough of everything to make it exciting and somewhat believable as big movies go. It’s not too cheesy, not too violent and not too over the top. As a newly minted Daniel Craig fan (with his picture as Bond on my computer screensaver – blush blush) I wait with anticipation for the next Bond movie. I just hope it lives up to Skyfall. Prior to the movie, Bosco and I, along with a group of our friends, all Bond fans visited the Omega store in Vancouver. Omega is one of the sponsors for James Bond and we were able to see the official Skyfall watch on display. Not to be outdone, one of the guests showed up wearing no less than six Omega watches to mark the occasion! It was a fun cocktail party attended by the Vancouver press and media. The champagne was flowing to the accompaniment of all the Bond movie theme songs. The only thing missing were the Bond Girls! Everyone received a goodie bag with a magnificent glossy magazine detailing Omega’s history with James Bond. Perhaps I might start jotting down my thoughts in my new Omega Skyfall black leather agenda!
